Julie Chandio - Studio Lighting Class 2009

Here's a couple shots I took while in a studio lighting class.  (Definitely more to come).  This is Julie, she drove all the way from San Antonio to be the model for the class.  She was awesome, it was nice to shoot an actual model, only because I didn't have to do much on the posing part, she new exactly what to do.  This class was definitely worth taking, it's called Studio Lighting 101 and can be found on the Precision Camera website.

Sara Strick 2008

These are some shots I took of my friend Sara Strick our senior year in high school.  These were just for another project in photojournalism which we were both in; ah good times.  These were taken at Barton Springs (keep in mind, at the time I had no off camera flash to produce fill lighting with, which would have made these a heck of a lot better), enjoy [:

P.S. - Isn't she insanely gorgeous?

Alyx Gauthier - Experimenting with Light 2008

These were some photos I took of my friend Alyx, who was always up for being one of my models.  For my photojournalism class, an assignment was to take photos using untampered-with light sources; these photos are the result of that, no editing was done.  And yes her skin is naturally this flawless.

Katrina Barber Photography blog!

Hello!  I thought I'd start a blog to accompany portraits I take, giving me a chance to explain my thought process and everything that goes along with it.

So, to start things off, here's some senior pictures I took of Kirby Duemig, class of 2010 (CPHS Senior Rep).

For Kirby's shots, I wanted to try out some poses on a graffiti background, replicating some I saw in Digital Photographer; Kirby was great and really listened to what I wanted her to do, and of course she looks beautiful in all of them [:

*As a side note, I would just like to point out that Kirby's backyard has the greenest grass in Austin.
